My daughter is only 2 so we haven't given her any peanut butter or any type of nuts/seeds yet, as they are often not meant to be given until after 2 anyway.
Just wondering how others Masto kids have reacted or not when nuts and seeds have been introduced to their diet? My husband and I both snack on these often and would love to share this healthy option, either eaten seperately or as trail mix. _________________ Mom to Nora-Maija, who is extremely funny, talks alot and has UP |

I was very nervous about starting nuts, but also wanted to introduce them as a good source of healthy fat and protein for my child (we are mostly vegetarian). I actually had given sesame seeds before age 2, but waited on the peanut butter and such until after age 2.
I introduced it like any other food...a small amount and watched carefully. Thankfully, there was no problems and my son now eats many different type of nuts and seeds.
I haven't heard that nuts are a particular problem for mastokids. Some mastokids have nut allergies, but that may be an additional issue, not directly tied to each other.
On an interesting note, I have a friend who found out she was allergic to nuts in her 20's!!! She said she had never had them as a child, so didn't know. So, I guess in the end, if you're going to have an allergy, it will show up no matter when you introduce the food!

| I was terrified to give Bella nuts. I gave them to her when she was about two and she has no problems with it. |

I waited until 2 with my son also. He has had no problems with peanuts or any other nut. I, like Cris, introduced one at a time and gave small amounts to begin with. _________________ Tina
