| everywhere i read, it says it is uncommon to get them on the scalp, palms, it is nice to know my daughter is not the only one. Do they have trouble with itchy scalp, my daughter is always itching her head, it seems to only be the head. I wonder if the hair bothers the spots? |

My 5 month old daughter has spots all over her scalp. I think this is one of the worst places for her. She also has quite a few framing her face. She only has 2 on the bottom of her feet and none on her palms. I guess we are uncommon too:)
My daughter is still too young to ask if they are itching her, and they dont seem to be, but who knows? I know she scratches the ones on her tummy, but maybe she hasn't figured out how to scratch the ones on her scalp yet? |

Hi, Alex is 18mths (diognosed at birth) has lots of spots on his scalp, also framing his face. Overall we probably have over 1000. I have never counted! He has none on his palms etc. We are very lucky as Alex has no issues with itching , food etc, his are purely cosmetic. We have also just moved to the tropics (top of Australia) and have noticed his spots fading all the time due to it always being sunny. |

| I am glad your son is doing well, my daughter started talking but does not understand the full concept of what if bothering her, she seems to be Ok overall, I feel blessed, I hope this is all we have to worry about. I am in southern california, it is hot and sunny here a lot too, most of time you can not see her spots but when they react they get all red and swollen. |

My son has tons of spots on his scalp and his face as well. He even had one spot on his scalp that would always hive whenever he bumped his head in the toddler years....so matter where he bumped it! He also has what I call an "indicator spot" on his upper cheek. It never hives itself, but when I see it get bright red, I know he is about to have a reaction somewhere on his body. Very curious!
For the itching, have you tried a natural shampoo? Jake has issues with most artificial chemicals. We use California Baby products or Dr. Bronner soap and they do well.

| Bella's scalp is covered in spots. Her scalp itches her once in a while and it hurts when I comb her hair no matter how gentle I am. |

Hi! Caleb is literally covered from head to toe. He has probably 1000 just on his face and scalp. The only place he doesn't have it is the tip of his nose and his private part. His palms have a few spots. But his scalp rarely bothers him unless I have to scrub it (sticky things in hair or cradle cap as a baby) _________________ Melanie

Melanie, Love your photo thing - that is adorable! Just wanted to quickly comment, my daughter Audrey was diagnosed at 4 months old - she'll be 4 in April. Her spots are few overall, but heavily concentrated in her scalp area. They rarely bother her in the scalp area, and of course, are now covered by lots of hair. She has a few on her temple area and these are the ones that react most of all.
I know it says in the literature that this is uncommon, but I think among the community here - pretty common for all of our kids!
